[Much to his embarrassment, Emil is terrified of storms. He's been trying to hide it ever since the thunder and lightning started and has been doing a decent job of it until a particularly loud crash of thunder awakens him with a start, causing him to jump and bump the nightstand. This jolt knocks his journal open just in time to catch his frightened yelp.]

[You are so lucky Richter snored during that yelp, Emil. If he hadn't, he'd have awoken and instantly reached for his weapons without so much as a second thought. Now he just continues sleeping, his face virtually buried in the pillow and an arm covering it for good measure.]

[Emil is glad for that as well-- the last thing he wants is to let Richter know that he's afraid of storms. That would likely earn him another lecture. Instead, he'll just cover his mouth with a hand to stifle any future yelps.]

I've heard much louder storms in my lifetime, and when you have hearing as sensitive as my own, then you can be startled by them.

[There is another crack of thunder and a flash of lightning, causing the room to be filled with an eerie luminescence that causes Tenebrae's eyes to give off a spooky glow as they stare at Emil.]
