[On the floor of the forest not too far from the southern barrier is something blue lying among the leaves. Emil decided to take Vyse and Asch's advice of finding something productive to do rather than moping around, but since he's not the type of person to always think things through, this means he's spent the past week banging on/trying to find a way through the barrier. Obviously, that didn't exactly work.

He's partially covered with leaves now thanks to the wind, though there's still enough of his outfit uncovered to be visible from a distance. It looks like he's been there for a little while. Poke/kick/tell him he's a moron?]

[Emil isn't very good about asking for things he wants or needs, so this is probably the closest to a request you're going to get.]

[Ahaha, not bad, not bad. Nanaki smiles faintly and nods his head, sitting himself down beside the couch.] You have a point. Alright, I'll stay for a while.

[Curling up on the couch now and just hugging one of the pillows. He feels bad for not being very conversational, but he just can't seem to muster the will to talk about anything.]

[That's fine by Red- he had a feeling Emil wasn't really interested in making him dinner. He just lies down beside the couch and rests his head on his paws, not overly close but within reach, just in case.]

[After a little while a hand will reach down to stroke his head hesitantly, just very gently at first.]

[...Yep, saw that one coming. It's a little humiliating as always, but it feels nice, too, so he remains still, letting Emil pet him. If it consoles the boy, his own comfort is a small sacrifice.]

[It's just a small gesture, but it is making him feel a little bit better. Less alone, at least. Besides, furry animals are always comforting, right?]

[Nanaki can't really attest to that, since he's never pet anyone :| But he ruffles his own fur a bit and lets Emil do as he pleases, waiting it out. It's a non-issue for him, anyway.]

[Fortunately for him, it won't be long before Emil dozes off and the petting slows to a stop. What he needs most right now is rest.]
