[Once again Emil is out wandering around the village, although this time he's got his chimera Sial at his heels. Sial is carrying a small stick in his mouth, and every so often he'll run over to Emil and nudge at the boy's leg until Emil reaches down to take the stick and toss it halfheartedly for Sial to fetch. There's clearly something on his mind at the moment if his downcast expression is any indication.

If you happen to pass the pair, Sial might come bother you to see if you'll throw the stick for him.]

I'm worried about a couple of friends of mine. The Malnosso kidnapped them and then... did something to them.

Whatever the Malnosso did, it most likely won't be permanent.

I don't know... I think they meant for it to be permanent.

That's what I think too. They had to use fonons or magic or whatever to undo it, and even then they weren't sure if it was going to work or not.

Yes, it did. I'm just worried that the whole thing might have hurt them somehow.

[Sial might be nosing around Rose's foot to see if she smells like she has anything to eat with her.]

[Sorry, there's no people food on her. She does recoil a little when Sial goes near her. Gaah animal smell.]

[Emil notices this recoil and quickly picks Sial up.]

I'm sorry, I think he thinks you have food or something. He won't bite you, though.

[Emil should be more worried about her biting Sial.]

He's from my world-- the Malnosso brought him here as a gift for the Christmas before last.

The Malnosso give gifts?

They didn't this year, but I'm not sure why. Maybe the year before that was special for some reason.
