[It's sunset before Emil makes it back to town... while he was lucky enough not to land in the lake after going through the portal, he ended up in the mountains instead, and it's taken him almost two days to get back. He's exhausted, wet, freezing cold, and most importantly, he's not back in his world. The portal also separated him from Sial, so he's worried about what happened to his chimera companion as well.

He looks about as dejected as he feels right now; every so often he'll stumble over something and fall to his knees before picking himself up and continuing to trudge on.]

Egg... E? Right, find something with the next letter then!

[It's slow, but at least it's effective. Raven hopes Emil doesn't have a ridiculously long name.]

[M, um... he'll try pointing to his mouth now.]

Mouth! Mouth right?

[He'll nod at "mouth." This isn't as hard as he'd expected it to be.

... until he gets to I. Is there anything at all in this room that begins with that letter? Fortunately for him, at that moment a cricket happens to hop out onto the rug. Crickets are insects, which begin with I, so he'll point at that and hope Raven can figure it out.]

Cricket? EMC? What kind of a name is that? No wait.. Cricket... Insect?

[Bingo! And now for the last letter. It only takes him a few seconds of thinking before deciding to point at his leg-- that one should be easy.]

Knee? Yer name is Emik?

[Not quite. This time he'll make sure he's pointing at his calf rather than his knee.]

[It takes him a moment before he finally catches on.]

Emil?

So Emil it is, pleasure to meet ya kid! That wasn't too bad, worked out quite well. I do have some good ideas every now and then...

Next thing we need ta do is find that journal of yours once you've rested up nicely.

[Well, that's one thing off his mind for the moment. It'll make things less awkward now that they know each others' names, too. At the mention of the journal, he'll point at the kitchen table to indicate that it was there, then shrug to show that he doesn't know where it went.]

So it was on that table and now it's gone?

[Raven gets up and begins inspecting around the house, looking for any signs of a forced entry.] Is anything else missing?

[Yet another shake of his head. The house is pretty empty, but it's not because anything is missing. It's because Emil is the only one who lives there. That much should become fairly obvious if Raven looks in the upstairs bedrooms, both of which are vacant and unused.]

[After seeing what Emil drew in his journal, it's not likely Raven will be venturing into any of the bedrooms.]

You live here alone right?

[He droops a bit by means of an answer. He's all by himself now, yes.]

Don't worry about it, I've spent most of my life livin' alone. You could always move into one of those community buildings if ya get too lonely.

[He'll tilt his head at this. Why was Raven alone? He was such a nice person.]

Either way ya shouldn't be wandering around. Go and get some rest, ya really need it.

[Hesitate. He's exhausted, that much is true, but Sial is still missing and he doesn't really want to be all alone.]

If there's things ya need to do that are important, wouldn't it be better to do them when yer not so fatigued? If you go out there now ya'll just cause more damage than good.

[He does have a point... it's getting hard for him to keep his eyes open now.]

Go on, go to sleep. At least grab a power nap or somethin', I could do with one myself. Mind if I camp on yer couch?

[No, he doesn't mind at all. Actually, it will probably let him sleep easier if there's someone else around in the house. Going from sharing a bed with Richter to being all alone in the house was pretty tough on him.]

[Then just for tonight Raven will crash on his couch, his room is all the way on the other side of the village and it's freezing cold. He'd rather pass on walking back right now.]
