[It's sunset before Emil makes it back to town... while he was lucky enough not to land in the lake after going through the portal, he ended up in the mountains instead, and it's taken him almost two days to get back. He's exhausted, wet, freezing cold, and most importantly, he's not back in his world. The portal also separated him from Sial, so he's worried about what happened to his chimera companion as well.

He looks about as dejected as he feels right now; every so often he'll stumble over something and fall to his knees before picking himself up and continuing to trudge on.]

[Rena refuses to go back home and face Haruki everyone with her new cicada voice, so she's wandering around outside, waiting for it to wear off, before she spots Emil falling to the ground.

....Oh, poor Emil. He was one of the first to say he was going back. Rena runs toward him as he starts to get up and puts a hand on his shoulder. You okay, buddy? :(]

[The hand on his shoulder startles him somewhat. He looks up, sees who it is, and then lowers his gaze to the ground. He can't even thank her for her concern, not when he isn't even able to make any sounds other than barks and growls.]

[It's okay. She understands. Rena gives him a smile and rubs his head gently. She's in the same boat.]

[Maybe he can write in the snow-- let's try that. With one finger, he starts trying to write "Have you seen my chimera?" but... wait. That is not a sentence, that is a questionable drawing of himself and Richter. Frantically he tries to wipe it away, looking both distressed and embarrassed. What the heck was that?]

[...Oh dear. Rena hasn't tried that yet, but she can guess the reason why. She doesn't laugh, and merely looks at him sympathetically, before she points to her throat with her head tilted. Are you making strange sounds too?]

[He opens his mouth to say something and... out comes a bark.]

[But he's not going to take the hand. This inability to speak is just the icing on the cake; he's gotten his hopes up for nothing, been dumped in the mountains, he has no idea where Sial and his journal are, and now he can't even talk? It's just cruel, even for the Malnosso.]

[Noel wasn't going to approach him at first, but she grew more concerned once she saw that Emil stumbling. Even though she has no idea who he is... well. Let's just go see if he's okay. Not like she needs to talk, right? Yeah.

So she'll walk over to Emil as he's still on his knees with a concerned look on her face. You okay there?]

[No worries, he can't talk right now either. And even if he could, it's doubtful that he'd want to.

In fact, he doesn't even seem aware of his presence as she comes over to him. He's just kind of staring down at the snow with a defeated expression on his face.]

[Uh oh. He doesn't look too happy at the moment. It really doesn't help that she can't talk, either, but... even if she could, Noel wouldn't really know how to ask if he was okay - or help for that matter.

But she's about four feet away from him now. Yep. Just standing there.

[It isn't fair. It's not fair, he was supposed to be going home, supposed to be fixing his world and getting to see Richter and Marta and Tenebrae again, and now he's back in Luceti without his journal and with no clue where Sial went, unable to even speak. He's not sure whether to scream or cry right now... but he can't even do either. He sniffs, trying to blink back tears.]

[Ted was waiting by the village entrance to see if there were any other victims who ended up out there, so guess who he sees? He quickly makes his way over, intending to help.]

[Raven was simply walking around to get out of that stuffy house when he spots Emil struggling.]

Hey kid, are you alright there? Need a hand?

[Oh, hey, he recognizes this person as one of Yuri's friends, though the name escapes him at the moment. Darn his inability to speak; he can't even ask the guy his name. He'll just nod in response, though he doesn't look very certain of it.]

[He'll probably freeze to death by doing this, but he decides to take his large coat off and fling it over the drenched boy.]

[Emil will pull the coat a little tighter around himself and nod, sniffling a little. The fact that he's still in Luceti and not back in his world with Richter and Marta and Tenebrae is finally starting to settle in, as is the realization that he's not going to get to go home after all.]
