[It's sunset before Emil makes it back to town... while he was lucky enough not to land in the lake after going through the portal, he ended up in the mountains instead, and it's taken him almost two days to get back. He's exhausted, wet, freezing cold, and most importantly, he's not back in his world. The portal also separated him from Sial, so he's worried about what happened to his chimera companion as well.

He looks about as dejected as he feels right now; every so often he'll stumble over something and fall to his knees before picking himself up and continuing to trudge on.]

Emil, you're freezing.

[He shakes his head. He's fine, really... well, he'll be fine enough until he gets to his house, at least.]

[you are not arguing with her on this. You're just coming along]

[But Emil can be stubborn when he wants to be, and right now he'd rather just go home where he can be alone.]

[fine then. But she's coming with him]

[Okay, fine. The house is pretty empty and quiet, though, so he'll look somewhat apologetic as he opens the door.]

[she doesn't care. The first thing she's doing, after making Emil sit down on the sofa, is starting a fire]

[No complaints here. It's freezing in the house, though there are plenty of extra blankets in the closet.]

[fire first. Then she will hunt for blankets. If they were in her house everything'd already be ready...]

It's freezing in here, Emil.

[He knows, but there isn't much he can do about it besides having a fire in the fireplace. That takes effort, though, and he's hardly felt motivated to do anything lately.]

Next you're gonna get sick or something.

[there is a nice fire now, though, and here, have a pile of blankets on top of you]

[Knowing his awful luck? That wouldn't be surprising.

... oh hey, blankets. Now he can make a nice little nest and curl up so that only his head is sticking out. It probably looks ridiculous, but at least it's nice and warm.]

[there's that and a fire and now she is going to make...hot chocolate.

You thought it was gonna be tea, didn't you?]

[... actually, yes, given last time. But he's certainly not going to object to hot chocolate or anything warm.]

[well it's Emil's house, she doesn't have the tea she'd want to make. Give her a few minutes, and she will bring a big mug of hot chocolate]

[Emil has no shortage of tea; he's pretty much been subsisting off of it for a while. When she brings the mug over, he'll accept it with a slight nod of thanks before blowing on it to cool it off.]

[she noticed how bare the kitchen was]

Need anything else?

[He shakes his head. No, he's just fine with the hot chocolate for now.]

[okay. She's going to sit somewhere, then, and try to warm up a little herself]

[Well, he wouldn't be a good host if he didn't offer her one of the blankets from his nest, so he's going to do that.]

[she'll take it...and if he doesn't look like he minds, will sit on the couch with him. It's got the best angle for the fire, see]

[Since he can't speak, he just nods in response before turning his attention back to the fire. She's free to sit on the couch if she wants; it doesn't bother him.]

[she will just sit in silence for a while then. She's trying to decide if her talking will help him any]

[He's okay either way, since it's not like he can hold up his end of a conversation at the moment.]
