[This isn't the first time Emil has returned home to an uncomfortably quiet house. It's not unusual for H to be out somewhere during the day, but there's something strange about today, a weird feeling in the house that causes a sinking sensation in the pit of Emil's stomach. Hoping against hope, he's going to head upstairs and open the door to his housemate's bedroom... only to have his worst fears confirmed.

Once again, his journal falls to the ground with a thud, popping open to record a strained, shaky voice.]

N-no... no, not again... no... please...

[OOC: I know, I'm still on hiatus, but Emil wouldn't not react to his housemate vanishing.]

That's good. I should probably do a little more reading about kids and babies before I try to look after a real one.

I'd definitely suggest that. Looking after a kid when you don't know anything about how to is just about as difficult as it sounds.

That's what Judith was saying. I'd thought it was all instinct, but she said that she was pretty much learning as she went along.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it was for both of us. There's no way someone could have a kid and immediately know everything about taking care of it.

The more I learn about it, the more glad I am that Richter and I... can't have kids...

It's not all bad. Just tough at first and a little frustrating from time to time, that's all. I don't have any major regrets about it, anyway.

[He'll pause for a moment after that before starting off for the kitchen. Gotta put that thermos somewhere, after all.]

You want something to drink?

Huh? Oh, um, sure... what do you have?

[Putting the thermos on the counter and looking in the ice box. ... Mrr.]

Not ... much. Just water, milk, and juice.

Juice is fine with me.

[And he'll be taking the opportunity to sit down on the couch now.]

[And he'll just nod and ... yes. Stuff happens, and eventually he comes back to the living room with a glass of orange juice and some water for himself. He'll be handing the juice over to Emil before he takes a seat on the end of the left side of the couch. Not gonna take any chances.]

[Emil nods in gratitude and takes the glass, but doesn't drink from it just yet, instead just kind of staring into the liquid. He's getting the feeling that Yuri is still a bit wary around him, though exactly why that is he isn't sure. He's not sure how to bring up the subject, either.]

[It's only because he's half-deaf at the moment Emil, honest :( ... Too bad he's not exactly giving Emil any way to know that.

... But it's a little quiet and awkward right now, so.]

... How long have you known him?

[He's quiet for a moment while he counts back in his head.]

... almost six months. We met just after... just after Richter was sent home.
