[It may be a rainy day today, but the rain hasn't stopped Emil from going outside anyway. In fact, he doesn't seem like he even notices it as he sits on a large rock near the bridge by the clinic, knees drawn up to his chest, just sort of staring at the water. He's motionless except for when he occasionally reaches down to pick up a stone from the riverbank and throw it in, so it's easy to miss him sitting there.

Horatio, Luke, Faize, and now Frederic... and that's just the people whose disappearances he learned of during the past month. At this rate it's hard for him to keep from feeling that the Malnosso are somehow punishing him by taking his friends away-- why else would they take people who had promised to be there for him? And on top of that, people have been killed and injured, too...

Right now more than ever, Emil just wants to go home to Richter, Marta and Tenebrae, even if he doesn't know what waits for him there. Surely it's better than this.]

[Minato was only planning a quick trip to the grocery store, but bright yellow hair is noticeable from the bridge even though the rain.After pausing for a moment, he walks over, carrying his umbrella.]

Emil-kun?

[At first it seems like he hasn't heard Minato at all, but after a long moment, he looks up.]

... Minato.

[He sits down on the grass. His pants are soaked now but he doesn't seem to notice. The umbrella is keeping the rain off both of them now.]

It's been a while.

[He picks up another stone and absentmindedly tosses it into the water.]

[Here Emil, have a 12-year-old running around in the rain because he wanted to go for a jog. Except this is unusual so he's just going to watch Emil for a minute.]

You'll mind later when it gets cold. I don't mind it either, but my sister and Raine both get mad if I stay out too long, so there's probably somebody who'll get upset if you're out in the rain.

[Charle is out with an umbrella... jumping in puddles. As it rains. This is fun, right? She's enjoying it, to be sure. She jumps in a puddle just a few yards from Emil and... splash!]

[A sudden deluge of water is kind of hard for Emil to ignore, so he's going to let out a startled yelp and almost topple off the rock in the process.]

[That unmoving kid may be easy to miss for normal people, perhaps, but Yuan can see him sitting there anyway. Keen Seraph sight and all that, you know the drill. Emil's been awfully quiet for quite a while now, which can't bode too well for Ratatosk. Time to investigate, just in case.]

[Emil looks up at the speaker, but he's not going to greet him just yet, instead hesitating and trying to gauge what he's up to. He knows very well that Yuan doesn't like him, so why is the guy trying to make conversation?]

[Now now, "doesn't like" is an awfully big statement. He doesn't like Ratatosk, but that the moment he's neutral on Emil himself. Let's try this again.] Shouldn't you go find shelter?

[Riku here's got a jacket on, since it's rainy. The fact that Emil looks so bummed and isn't even bothering to carry an umbrella does seem strikingly odd, though, so he'll wander up to him.]

[Usagi spots Emil from her walk to the clinic, she had intended on heading over to help out (seeing as she's been fairly useless there since becoming a little more involved with the brigade and school). She grips her pink umbrella tightly and approaches, noting the look on his face.]

Hey, Emil.

[Emil looks up at her as she approaches, but he doesn't budge from his perch on the rock.]

Oh, hi Usagi. Why are you out here in the rain?

I'm not actually out in the rain. [she wiggles the umbrella shielding her from the drops of water] But you are.

Why are you out in the rain, Emil? [she echoes his question on purpose] You're gonna get sick.

[ McCoy should invest in finding an umbrella in the stores one of these days, but for now the doctor has finished his rotation at the clinic and is heading home, using medkit as a makeshift canopy. Of course he comes across Emil and looks very annoyed. ]
