[Voice/Action] (Backdated to yesterday after Yuber's post)

[Anyone in the grocery store will be treated to a battered, bloodied Emil (la la ongoing thread, oops) stumbling inside and slamming the door shut behind him, leaning back against it in a desperate hope that Yuber will think twice about following him into a building where other people might be taking refuge. When several moments pass and there is no attempt to open the door, Emil slides down it into a sitting position on the floor and takes a few deep breaths. He's clearly in bad shape; multiple wounds are bleeding heavily, and he bears the marks of several fire and lightning spells as well.

At last he stirs and reaches over for his journal, which he dropped on the floor in his haste. His voice is shaky and strained as he says one thing:]

I think... I think I need some help.

Well, when you're in the nobility, you eat nasty stuff all the time. Guess I just got used to it.

You don't get to eat fancy, expensive food? I would've thought nobles ate food like steak or caviar all the time, not nasty stuff.

Man, I miss being able to taste things.

Huh? What do you mean?

After I bit it, remember? Lost my sense of taste.

Oh... a death penalty. I'd forgotten about those. I can't imagine what it would like to not be able to taste anything...

It could be worse. Hell, Colette had that and worse on the Journey of Regeneration.

She didn't really tell me much about the journey, but I can understand why. After all, I'd sworn revenge against Lloyd, someone who was important to her. Why would she tell me things like that?

From what I know, things were really terrible for them on Sylvarant when they were doing the pilgrimage. Course, most of us don't talk about most of the things that happened for our own reasons, regardless of your reasons for chasing Lloyd at the start.

I don't know what things were like back then. I wish I did... maybe then I could understand Lloyd a little better.

Probably, though, I don't think he's too hard to get. Take one third idealism, one third charisma, and one third stupid, and you've got Lloyd.

Maybe... maybe if he'd been here longer, I could've gotten to know him better.

Well, if he ever gets dragged back here again, you'll have your chance. I wouldn't worry about it though.

[He shakes his head.]

It's better that he's back at home. He was here for two years, and besides, there are things he needs to do there.

True, but Lloyd's a badass no matter where he is. He'll get it done no matter what or where he is.

Then maybe he's the one who should be saving the world, not me.

We all have our own roles to play. Mine is to look sexy. Yours and Lloyd's roles are to do that saving the world shtick.
