[Morning finds Emil lugging a bulging knapsack up the road to the bridge near CH #1, the ends of what look like a couple of glass bottles sticking out of it. Whatever is inside it seems to be rather heavy-- he has to stop every few yards to rest, but he's determined to make it to his destination despite this.
Once he gets to the bridge, he unzips the knapsack and begins unpacking the contents. Inside is a whole array of glass bottles, each one containing a letter addressed to a friend who has left Luceti. Richter, Marta, Tenebrae, Horatio, Luke, Faize, Lloyd, Genis-- each one of them (as well as several other people) gets a letter. He figures that with all of the creepy supernatural stuff going on lately, maybe, just maybe, if he drops these bottles into the stream now, they'll somehow reach the intended recipients. It can't hurt to try, right? If nothing else, it might make him feel a little bit better about hearing voices and seeing things.
... or so he hopes.]

Emil? What're you doin' with those?
[action]
[He debates hiding them or lying, but finally decides to just admit it.]
... I'm sending messages to the people who have been sent back home.
[action]
Is that gonna work? [His eyes followed the flow of the river. He thought, if he were thinking about it rationally, that it wouldn't work. But in a way, a part of him held hope that you know what, what if it did somehow work? Stranger things had happened.]
... Are you gonna give it a try?
[action]
[He turns the bottle over and over in his hands nervously.]
[action]
C'mon, I'll tell you what, it won't hurt to try, right? We can follow one of 'em over to the lake and see what happens! Even if it doesn't get to where you want it to go, at least you tried. And you can keep the message for them if they do come back here.
[action]
[He thinks about this for a moment.]
Okay, I guess we could do that. That way I'd know for sure whether or not anyone actually got the message.
[action]
[He could understand the motivation of wanting to send messages, but he also didn't want to take away the fact that just the idea of sending them out there was helpful or a way to cope.]
[action]
I think I like that idea better. Besides, it would take a long time to walk all the way out to the lake anyway, and we might not even be able to keep up with the bottles if they really get going.
[action]
All right, then go for it! Let's hope that they do make it no matter where they're goin'!
[action]
[action]
Sure, I'll take one, thanks! Might as well give it a shot, like I said, right? You're sure that you have enough for all of your letters?
[action]
[Emil is somewhat of a sap; sentimental things come to him naturally, even if he does get embarrassed about it sometimes.]
[action]
[Bring on the sentimental stuff! It's cute! Sonic's not going to judge. ^^]
[action]
You're welcome; I just hope they really do reach everyone. That way, even if... even if they don't remember me, they'll at least know that I exist.
[action]
Hey, I hear ya on that. I think it'd make anyone's day if they got a letter sayin' that someone out there cares 'bout them, right?

[He trails off, but the implication is obvious.]
[action]
We'll remember. We have to, and we will. I believe it!
[action]
[Truth is, he's not entirely sure he does, but it helps to have someone else who believes it too.]
