[Talking with Adele the other day had served to remind Emil that he really needs to do more about publicizing Brave Vesperia. Okay, so he's been sort of slacking on that end lately, he'll admit to that, but he doesn't want to disappoint Yuri and Zack if they ever return. He owes it to them to do his best as a leader, and that's what he's going to do.

That's why he picks up his journal this afternoon to make an announcement.]

Hi everyone! My name is Emil Castagnier, and I'm one of the leaders of Brave Vesperia here in Luceti. I know I haven't really done much with it since Yuri and Zack left, but it's a guild dedicated to helping people around the village-- we'll do just about anything that needs doing, like helping find lost things, or even building buildings. Anyone can join if they want... you don't need special skills or anything. You just have to want to help out.

Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone that it exists in case people want to join or have something that they want to ask us to do for them. I'll be down at the barracks for the rest of the afternoon if you want to stop by and sign up or if you have a job you want us to do.

Oh, um, and would the members who are still here mind checking in with me? I'm not sure who all is still around anymore. Only if you're still interested, that is. It's okay if you're not. I haven't exactly been the best leader lately.

[Once he finishes his announcement, he'll head down to the barracks, where he'll stay for the rest of the afternoon in the hopes that some people will stop by.]

Right! He's the main character of my game, Fix-It Felix Junior! And lemme tell you - if he was here... well, you guys'd probably be out of business! I mean... he has his magic hammer. It can fix anything!

Anything? Even buildings?

[Emil sounds a little bit skeptical about this. Magic or not, it's gotta take more than just a hammer to fix something as big as a building, right?]

Oh, yeah! I mean, that's the whole game, really! I wreck the building, Felix fixes it up. I mean, it's not like he does it all in one swing. He has to fix one section at a time. Especially when it's a professional wrecking job by yours truly!

Wow... that sounds like it would be really useful to have here. I mean, most of the buildings fix themselves, but only the ones the Malnosso built. We have to fix any of the ones we built by ourselves. And besides, even though the Malnosso fix most of the buildings, it can still take them time to do it, and no one wants to sit around with a hole in their roof while they're waiting.

Oh yeah, he's a real useful guy! That's why everyone loves him. [And despite everything - plus what they've gone through with that whole Cybug incident - Ralph can't help but have a soft spot for the guy himself.] Right, I did know about that whole... auto-repair thing. Found that out my first day here. [When he kinda wrecked a few people's homes.] It is really handy. Not as handy as Felix, but pretty darn handy itself.

Yeah. That's why the only kind of building we usually get asked to do is building new ones, not fixing old ones.

Hey, why don't you give building something a try? You're really big and strong... I bet you'd be great at it. You wouldn't have any trouble carrying the boards and stuff around.

Me? Building? Listen, kid, I see where you're getting at, but you're putting your quarters in the wrong slot here. That's just not the kind of thing a guy like me should be doing.

Why not? You're strong, and you're tall enough that you wouldn't even have to use a ladder. You look like the perfect guy to be doing that kind of thing.

When you put it like that, sure, it sounds like a great idea! But I'm supposed to be a wrecker. It'll only be a matter of time until I mess this up, too.

How do you know unless you try? Okay, maybe you will mess it up, but you could also end up being good at it, too. You should at least give it a chance before you decide that you can't do it.

Maybe... If people even want me around. Anyone been saying anything about me?

[Now he sounds legitimately confused.]

No, nothing at all. Why do you ask?

What? Does... anyone know I got brainwashed by that Ganon-dork?

Ganon... who? I don't know anyone named that.

[Sigh.]

You don't? Guy was causing all kinds of weird trouble the other week. But it doesn't matter. Whether you knew about it or not, he had me under his control easily. Bottom line's I messed up, and I bet it could happen again.

Oh, you mean Ganondorf. I heard about that-- he hurt Alexei pretty badly in their fight. But he hasn't come back yet, has he?

You didn't recognize him when I was one letter off? [He's pinching at the bridge of his nose.] Whatever, kid! I know I haven't seen him. But these big bad guys, they don't stay down for long. He'll be back, and I'll wind up being his miniboss again for the sequel.

[One thing Ralph will eventually learn is that Emil has his moments of... well, dumb. There's no nice way to put it.]

I know that, but Alexei and I have already been talking about what we can do with him when he comes back. You don't need to worry about that. If we keep him down in the tunnels, he won't be able to use any of his magic or powers, so he won't be able to hurt anyone else that way.

[He's not the smartest tetrimino in the game, himself.]

Really? You dudes think you can pull that off? [And it's weird that it's Alexei himself who's involved in it, since Ralph knows that he's... kind of a bad guy himself.] And... he won't be able to do anything down there?

I don't see why not. I know they've kept people down there before when they didn't want someone causing trouble with their powers.

Good. If it really works that well, maybe I'll go see him when he's down there.

Why would you want to go see him if you hate him that much?

To punch him in the face.

... oh. I guess that explains that.

Yep. That's one thing I'm confident I can do, at least.
