[Talking with Adele the other day had served to remind Emil that he really needs to do more about publicizing Brave Vesperia. Okay, so he's been sort of slacking on that end lately, he'll admit to that, but he doesn't want to disappoint Yuri and Zack if they ever return. He owes it to them to do his best as a leader, and that's what he's going to do.

That's why he picks up his journal this afternoon to make an announcement.]

Hi everyone! My name is Emil Castagnier, and I'm one of the leaders of Brave Vesperia here in Luceti. I know I haven't really done much with it since Yuri and Zack left, but it's a guild dedicated to helping people around the village-- we'll do just about anything that needs doing, like helping find lost things, or even building buildings. Anyone can join if they want... you don't need special skills or anything. You just have to want to help out.

Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone that it exists in case people want to join or have something that they want to ask us to do for them. I'll be down at the barracks for the rest of the afternoon if you want to stop by and sign up or if you have a job you want us to do.

Oh, um, and would the members who are still here mind checking in with me? I'm not sure who all is still around anymore. Only if you're still interested, that is. It's okay if you're not. I haven't exactly been the best leader lately.

[Once he finishes his announcement, he'll head down to the barracks, where he'll stay for the rest of the afternoon in the hopes that some people will stop by.]

Twice so far... I think I've been pretty lucky compared to some people who get kidnapped a lot.

[ At this point, Killua is really just getting information from him. He doesn't even really bother to ask if it's okay--it'd be strange for him to in the first place ] Do you remember what it was like?

[Fine by Emil, since he's been around for so long that he's used to people asking him all sorts of weird questions.]

Yeah, and I wish I didn't. I can still remember all of the things they did to me while I was with them. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all.

No one would be wary of being kidnapped in the first place if it was pleasant.

If they aren't the ones who sent us here, then what's the reason for experimenting on us?

I'm not sure. I think they're using us as experiments to see if they can find a way home for themselves, since they're trapped here just like we are. At least, that's what people say. It would make sense, too.

It's a pretty risky strategy.

At this point I'm not sure they have any choice other than to do risky things.

Isn't it a waste to lose chances of us being their allies?

I think they sort of lost any chance of that once they started keeping us in these enclosures to begin with.

Good enough point.

Guess no one's dumb enough to take on whoever's done all this. [ .... ] Or, the people who were have left.

I'm pretty sure some people have tried, but...

They're too strong.

Yeah.

[And he knows he doesn't have any hope of being able to go up against them himself.]

The person who I knew that went home would've been dumb enough to want to take them on.

Maybe it's best that he ended up being sent home before he tried to do something crazy, then.

I wouldn't have let him, anyways. There's no way.

Huh? I didn't say what it was?

[DAMMIT HE DID IT AGAIN.]

I'm sorry! My name's Emil-- Emil Castagnier. I always forget to introduce myself to people when I talk to them...

It's nice to meet you, Killua. And just in case, what's the name of your friend who was sent home?

It's Gon -- Gon Freecss. You wouldn't forget him if you had met him before-- he's pretty weird.

Gon... actually, I think I did meet him once, back during that scavenger hunt where the whole village turned into different settings. He seemed like a nice guy.

Heh... You participated in that, too? It was pretty fun.

Yeah, it really was. I wish more of the experiments they gave us were like that instead of strange or creepy things.

The other stuff isn't all that creepy. [ he's seen worse ] It just isn't all that fun or interesting.
