... wait, where am I? Marta? Tenebrae? Where did they go? M-maybe they're getting supplies... that must be it... but why wouldn't they wake me up too? This doesn't look like where we camped last night, but it was dark so I guess I just couldn't see that well. Now that I think about it, it was kind of creepy in the dark...

[a fluttering of wings]

Aaah! W-what the... what are these? Are they... they're attached to me! What's going on? [there is a distinct edge of panic to his voice now] Tenebrae! Marta! Where are you? Richter... anyone! Is this part of becoming the Knight of Ratatosk? If it is, I don't want to do this anymore!

This can't be happening... the people in Luin were right, I really am a monster...

So, has anyone explained to you where you are, yet?

Richter showed me this thing that explained it, but I'm still sort of confused.

Well... I'll try to explain it, then.

See, we're in this place called Luceti, where these creatures called Filial used to live. They had wings and were in touch with nature and stuff.

But the Filial died out, because these guys called the Malnosso came in and started experimenting on 'em. Out of subjects, they started pulling people from other worlds, like your world and mine, and made them the new Filial. That's why we all have wings.

So I'm a Filial, not a monster?

Experiments... then they're like the Desians...

I don't know who the Desians are, but if they performed experiments on people, then they're the same...

It makes me sick that some guys out there think they can do this to people...
