[It was over. Everything was over now. And once again, much as it was after they had dealt with Diavolo, Emil finds himself limping back home, exhausted and in pain and vaguely sick at the realization that they'd had to kill Zelman to end all of this. Although he wasn't the one who struck the killing blow, it still distresses him to know that he played a role in the whole thing. At least everyone is safe now... right? He takes his journal out and opens it to ask.]

I-is everyone all right? It's... we stopped Zelman. It's over now... [His voice is tired, shaky, with a slight note of disbelief.]

[Now he just hopes he can make it home without collapsing first.]

[When the warmth recedes, so too does the pain... well, somewhat, at least. It no longer feels like he's being stabbed with each breath.]

[apologizing isn't as bad as lying, but Richter can't stop his eye from twitching in annoyance.]

[pause. Oh, he is so staring at a far wall, now.]

[These words cause his head to jerk up in surprise.]

[Ohhh man, here comes the guilt...]

[jeez, Emil, you'd think that's obvious.]

... I'm sorry.

[He averts his eyes, partly because he's feeling guilty and partly because Richter is still in rather close proximity to him and he's trying to AVOID turning red if he can help it.]

Then learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them.

R-right.

[sdgfhg is it getting hot in here or is it just him?]

[whether it's getting hot or not doesn't matter, because Emil's going straight to bed anyway. He's going to recover and he's going to like it.]

Are you done resting?

Y-yes!

Then, let's keep going.

[he's holds out a hand to lift Emil to his feet again.]

[He takes it and stands, hesitating for a moment before leaning on Richter again.]

[and up the stairs they go, again. Richter's making sure not to touch Emil's injured side.]

[This time Emil manages to make it all the way up the rest of the stairs. Victory!]

[as they approach the apartment, Richter reaches into his pocket with one hand to pull out the key. Soon after, the door is unlocked and they enter the living space, also known as Emil's room.]

[Emil hasn't been this glad to see his own bed in quite a while, that's for sure. He can force himself to keep going until they reach it.]

[in that case, Emil can count on the fact that they soon reach the bed, and Richter lowers him onto it.]

I'll get you some water.

[because not too long ago, he discovered that the blood has turned back to regular water. Thank the goddess for that one. He's heading for the kitchen area now.]

[The mention of water makes him realize just how thirsty he actually is, and how hungry as well. He can't remember the last time he had anything to eat or drink...]

[Right now he feels like an incredible burden to Richter.]

[if by "burden" you mean Emil is constantly worrying his housemate with his incredible nack for trouble, then yes. The boy's feeling is justified. Not long after, Richter returns with a glass of water. He holds it out for Emil to take.]

[Sorry Richter. He likes you, though? When the glass is offered, Emil takes it and drains it quickly. He really was thirstier than he'd thought.]

... Should I get you another glass?

[A slight nod, again not meeting Richter's eyes.]
