Cloud is back.

He doesn't remember me at all. He didn't even recognize me... he said he'd never met me before.

What if... what if this happens to Luke when he returns? What if he doesn't remember me either? Or what if I get kidnapped, or Richter...?

We never should have gone into those tunnels. We didn't find anything useful, and now this is happening!

Those tunnels have nothing to do with this. If the Malnosso were angry that we went in there, they would've taken us instead.

Besides that, Cloud just got back. He's probably disoriented from whatever happened during his kidnapping. I'm sure his memory will come back when he's rested enough.

When I... when I was kidnapped, my memory was just fine afterwards. It wasn't like this.

Whatever they did to him is messing with his memories. The Malnosso are likely testing out different things on different people to see what happens, and this is ... one of those results.

Then don't beat yourself up about it. If this does end up being permanent, then make new memories while holding onto the ones he forgot. I think he'll appreciate that a lot more than what you're doing now.

It'll be ... tough, but I doubt anyone's gonna give up on you if that happened. And I'm sure you'd never give up on Richter if that happened to him. It'd be painful for you, but you'd have no other choices than working through it or giving up.
