[Sunset finds Emil trudging back to the village after having spent the previous day and a half trying in vain to break the barrier in an attempt to get Richter and Tenebrae back. He's obviously exhausted, and his shoulders and upper arms are covered in bruises from where he slammed himself against the barrier once he realized hitting it with his sword wasn't going to work. Clearly he's not his usual cheerful self right now; in fact, he seems almost on the verge of tears.

Feel free to run into him as he heads back home.]

[These days, it's unusual for Emil to return home from one of his patrols before nightfall. Not that he's really found anything (except for other people who have the same idea as him), but he's not about to stop doing it until these kidnappings stop and everyone is returned. It at least gives him some way to feel slightly less useless.

Today, however, the door to House 20 opens in the middle of the afternoon, and Emil comes in, closing the door quietly behind him. He's a good deal less perky than usual, too. The sound of his footsteps indicates that he's heading for the stairs; then, as if thinking better of it, he comes back, poking his head into the living room.]

Hey, Richter, would you mind getting something from the store for dinner? I don't really feel like cooking anything tonight.

[And he's gone almost as soon as he's said this, this time actually going upstairs.]

[Following his conversations with Yuri, Sonic and Dante, Emil has decided that he's going to try to be helpful-- which is why he's currently carrying out a sort of half-hearted patrol of Luceti. Not that he has any idea what he's going to do if he finds anything, of course, but it's better than sitting around and doing nothing. He doesn't even seem to mind the rain as he wanders along the perimeter of the village. Zelos' return has given him hope that some of the others might be back soon as well; he wants to be there to help them if he can. Maybe that will help stop him from feeling so useless.]

Cloud is back.

He doesn't remember me at all. He didn't even recognize me... he said he'd never met me before.

What if... what if this happens to Luke when he returns? What if he doesn't remember me either? Or what if I get kidnapped, or Richter...?

We never should have gone into those tunnels. We didn't find anything useful, and now this is happening!

... I want to go home...

Everyone is getting kidnapped... we should never have gone into those tunnels. The Malnosso are probably mad at us for messing around with their stuff.

I won't let them hurt my friends! ... but... I don't know what we can do.

Luke, Cloud... I hope you're okay.
