[It's sunset before Emil makes it back to town... while he was lucky enough not to land in the lake after going through the portal, he ended up in the mountains instead, and it's taken him almost two days to get back. He's exhausted, wet, freezing cold, and most importantly, he's not back in his world. The portal also separated him from Sial, so he's worried about what happened to his chimera companion as well.

He looks about as dejected as he feels right now; every so often he'll stumble over something and fall to his knees before picking himself up and continuing to trudge on.]

[Not on purpose! Emil looks very apologetic and tries to explain, but... bark.]

[Raven bursts into laughter.]

Do you always bark?... Hmm.....

Woof woof?

[Now he really looks on the verge of tears. As if the whole business with the portal wasn't bad enough, now he can't even talk? Just bark like a dog, which is reminding him of how Richter used to ask him if he was a dog or a man, and that just further serves to rub in the fact that he's not back at home. Looks like he really is a dog now.]

Hey hey hold on kid! [He stands in front of the boy and places his hands on either shoulder.] Look, I know things seem bad right now, there'll always be points when ya just wanna give up and cry. But ya gotta keep yer head up! Things'll get better, you just see. I'm guessing barking isn't how you usually speak, I've got a feelin' I know what caused that. I'm sure it'll wear off! Right now ya just gotta keep lookin' ahead OK?

[Get better? How could they possibly get better? Richter and Tenebrae went home, as did a whole bunch of his friends, and he got his hopes up thinking he was going to get to go home and see them again only to be made a fool of. And Sial... he doesn't know where his chimera went either.

Everything has just been getting worse and worse for him. 'Better' doesn't seem possible now.]

[Raven sighs. He wishes he knew what was going through Emil's mind but this is the first time they've ever met.]

I really don't know what ta say kid. Let's get you outta this cold and we can figure somethin' out from there onwards.

[He'll nod and swallow hard, embarrassed to be acting like this in front of someone he's just met. He's wishing he had his journal so that he could at least write something down and communicate that way.]

Right. Lead the way to yer home then, seein' as I have no idea where it is. [And he wraps his arm around Emil's shoulder again. Wishing he could help the kid properly.]

[The touch causes him to flinch a little bit-- hopefully the coat on top of the sweatshirt he'd been wearing will provide enough bulk to conceal just how skinny he is. The last thing he wants is people nagging at him about that.

But he'll be a good boy and lead the way to House 20. The house itself is dark and doesn't really look inhabited at all from the outside.]

[Raven doesn't really mind the flinch, he's used to people pushing him away. As they approach the house though, he can't help but notice.]

You sure ya live here? Doesn't like anyone has touched this place for a long time.

[He nods. It's his home and he doesn't want to leave it, even if he's the only one living there now.]

Alright let's get you inside. If ya have a change of clothes ya might wanna put them on and leave those ones ta dry somewhere.

[Now he'll open the door and usher Raven inside, the look on his face saying that he's sorry the house is so dark and uninviting. He'll go light some candles to at least make it a little bit brighter in here before gesturing to indicate that Raven can sit on the couch if he wants.]

[Raven sits on the couch, crossed legged as he makes himself comfortable watching Emil run around looking for candles. His mind wonders why Emil lives in such a big house like this on his own, did he used to share with people? Maybe his friends were sent home and he was left behind.. He sighs again.]

S'alright kid, yer house isn't that gloomy. Besides I like these kind of places, the dank walls and the lack of light. Never one for fancy stuff myself.

[He'll take that as a compliment... he thinks. It wasn't nearly this dark when Richter and Tenebrae were still here, even though Tenebrae preferred the darkness. Oh, he should offer water or food or something, shouldn't he? Well, there's not much food, but he can make tea, so he'll go put the kettle on for that.]

[Tea sounds quite nice, but with Emil in the condition he is, Raven doesn't think it right for him to be trolling around.]

You sit down I'll make us a drink.

[Huh? Cue frantic headshaking-- it's fine, really! He doesn't mind!]

No you sit down! Or go change yer clothes, go on, I'm takin' care of you remember?

[Y-yessir. Into the downstairs bedroom he'll go to put some dry things on and grab a couple of blankets, one for himself and one for Raven because it's cold in here. Once that's accomplished, he'll head back out to see what Raven is up to.]

[Raven has just finished up the tea and lit a few more candles, too dark in here for that kid.]

Do you take sugar or not? Otherwise yer tea is done, go sit down I'll bring it to ya!

[Sugar? Yes please. He nods to indicate that he wants some before returning to the couch to curl up in the blanket. He'll set the other blanket on the couch for Raven to use if he wants.]

[He puts a spoonfull or two of sugar into Emil's tea, gives it a quick stir and brings over to Emil.]

Ok be careful though, it's hot! [He passes it to the boy then goes to sit down next to him. Snuggling up in the blanket he left out for him.] Haha I never liked the cold either.

[Hot is good; the mug will warm his hands while he waits for it to cool down enough for him to drink. Right now Emil is trying to figure out a way to ask the man his name. He knows he's one of Yuri's friends, but they'd only ever spoken once or twice when he was here before and he just can't recall the guy's name. Hmm... maybe if he found some paper and a pencil...]

[Speaking of paper and pencils, Raven notices that Emil doesn't seem to have his journal on him.]

Did you lose your journal? I havn't seen it in this house or on ya person... Could be troublesome without that.

[He'd left it on the kitchen table before he went to go through the portal, so unless someone else had taken it, it appears it went missing somehow just like...

... wait. Sial! He forgot all about Sial! Setting the cup down, he'll try frantically to draw a cat-like shape in the air.]
