[It's just another day in Luceti, with a creepy eclipsed sun and monsters falling out of the sky everywhere. There's someone out and about who seems to be enjoying this, however-- Ratatosk (currently with blood-red wings instead of his normal black, thanks to the effects of whatever it is that's going on) is out wandering around with several assorted monsters trailing behind him. He's right in his element amongst all of these summons who seem to dislike the humans just as much as he does. New allies = awesome. Being stuck in Luceti for more than two years now = not so awesome.

This combination of things has made him extra-aggressive, so approach with caution.]

(OOC: Just as a warning, any character who approaches Ratatosk stands a fairly good chance of being attacked at some point. If you want your character to get injured, just let me know how/how badly.)

[Sadly, today also happens to be the day Yuan's finally getting out again. He's usually holed up in his house for much longer after something's happened to Martel, but considering he doesn't have much of a house right now, he's out early. He's also being accompanied by Celsius, trusty Summon Spirit of Ice.

The both of them narrow their eyes suspiciously when they spot Ratatosk. It's very easy to avoid mistaking him for Emil, considering Ratatosk's posture- Whenever he's strutting instead of slumping, he's not Emil. All the more reason for Yuan to approach him and make sure he stays out of trouble.]

[At the sight of Celsius, Ratatosk is going to stop in his tracks, an amused smirk on his face. Well, that's certainly interesting. Celsius following someone who isn't Sheena around? Now he's wondering just what's going on.

When he speaks, it's to her, not to Yuan.]

Long time no see.

[While Yuan's eyes narrow at being ignored, he won't comment on it. Instead, he'll just stand there and listen to the conversation as it unfolds. Who's he to break up such a 'touching' reunion, right?

Celsius tilts her head lightly, one hand on her hip.]

Over four thousand years.

That's too damn long if you ask me. Blame the humans and the half-elves for destroying my tree and leaving me with nowhere to go.

[Iris is currently hanging around nearby community building 5, when she sees Ratatosk and the summons, she will appear before him to investigate the situation.

Because hell if she's going to let someone go attack the injured. It's not their time to die, so she will protect them.]

[ooc: Have at it with her, she's actually energy in a physical form, so unless Ratatosk has some awesome energy manipulation talents, she can't die, and even with that, it's questionable.]

[Ratatosk will reach for his sword the moment she appears, though he hesitates to attack, not sure if she's another summon or not. Something about her just seems kind of odd to him; he just can't put his finger on it.]

Who the hell are you?

I'm the oracle, Iris. You had better not be planning on taking those creatures to harm others here.

[If he can sense human or not, definitely not human.]

And what if I am?

Then I will have to stop you. It isn't the time for any of them to die.

You've got guts, whoever you are. That's more than I can say for some of the people here.

I'd say it is rather cowardly to be trying to hurt people who don't even fight back. If you want a fight so bad, then you can have one with me.

Who says they aren't going to fight back? I bet most of them would try if their lives were on the line. Even humans want to live when they're being threatened.

[Ted, unfortunately, wasn't too familiar with Ratatosk. He only met him once, and it was too long ago and barely memorable as the man didn't do anything, so when he saw Emil surrounded by monsters it certainly came to a surprise for him.] Emil?!

[On any other day Ratatosk would probably have just sighed and gotten grouchy over being mistaken for Emil yet again. Today, however, he's feeling a lot more alive and more hostile towards any of the wimp's so-called friends than usual, so his response will be less tolerant.]

I'm not Emil!

[Frooown. Okay, not Emil.] Then you're that other guy. Ra--- Rattata, Ratatouille... [... Something. It didn't matter.] What happened to Emil?!

It's Ratatosk!

[See this sword? It's a very sharp sword. He's not going to hesitate to use it on you if he feels like it.]

He's busy right now.

[Please, as if a sword will scare him.] Ever thought of a name change? I think Rattata suits you just fine.

And I'm sure he can spare a few minutes. Why don't you let him out?

[That sword is now at your neck, Ted.]

I said he's busy right now.

[Glare.] I'm sure.

He's too busy hiding from all of these summons because he's nothing more than a coward.

He is not. [He steps away casually, more intent on backing off due to the obvious disadvantage. If he had a sword, he'd find this easier. Not to mention, there were monsters around, and Ted wasn't too keen on having to take on all of them.] You really need to be nicer to him. Aren't you just borrowing his body right now?

A body that he can't even take care of properly. What good is a body that can't even fight? At this rate, it's not much better than being stuck as a Core.

He doesn't have to fight if he doesn't want to. Why not just ask him to train sometimes if it bothers you so much?

Because he's afraid of that too.

How kind of you to take the task of educating him. But really, what do you think you're doing?

Seeing how many of these other summons are willing to work with me.

... For what?

To deal with all of the humans here, what else?

Give it up. Do you really think the villagers are going to stand for that?

Of course not, but I also don't think they stand a chance against me... not with my power back like this. Besides - [and here he gestures at the summons following him] - I'm not the only one who feels this way.

[Ted glares, somewhere between wanting to just leave him alone and being pissed off by the fact that Ratatosk is just asking for it.]

What, you don't have anything to say because you know it's true?

... You're really pissing me off, kid.

I'm not a kid!

Oh really? You're not very convincing.

[Colette has just finished fighting off a wolf-like creature, who scuttles away, bleeding profusely. Once she lets her guard down again, she sighs, exhausted.

And then she sees Emil. Or who she thinks is Emil.]

Emil...! [Her wings still out, she hovers over to him.] Emil, get away from those!

[He turns, scowling at her, eyes ruby red instead of emerald.]

The only one who needs to get away from anything is you.

[She backs up a bit.]

Ratatosk...? [Oh. Crap.] You're not going to...!?

Going to what, attack you? No, I'm not.

Then, what are you going to use those monsters for?

... stay out of my way and I won't hurt you. I can't say the same for anyone else here.

...

If you hurt anyone else here, Ratatosk... I will protect them. You have no business hurting innocent people!

How can you call them innocent after everything they've done? No humans are innocent-- they're all capable of destroying things out of greed if given the chance. That's why they need to be eliminated, so that what happened to my tree doesn't happen to anything else.

These people had nothing to do with your tree! Most of them aren't even from the same world! How could you hurt them for something they had no part in!?

Because they'll do exactly the same thing to this world, and to their own worlds. Don't you see? All humans are the same, no matter where they come from!

You don't understand humans at all! We grow and change and learn from our mistakes! We fix the things our ancestors broke! We all created a brand new world with a brand new tree to fix what Mithos did - and now you want to destroy it all!?

I'm destroying it in order to save it. I thought you of all people would be able to understand that... that's exactly what the Chosen is supposed to do, isn't it?
