[His voice is tired and shaky, but with an obviously forced cheerfulness.]

I, um... i-if I did anything to hurt anyone during this experiment, I-I'm really sorry. Everyone else is okay, r-right? Some of the things people got turned into were pretty scary.. I'm g-glad this is all over with.

I-I hope we don't have another experiment like that any time soon. I think I liked the ones that didn't involve being changed into anything b-better.

[OOC: Yeah, the kid is stammering like crazy because he's sitting out in the snow without a coat. Ratatosk, you are a genius.]

S-so I'm just supposed to stay in the house and n-not talk to anyone? I can't do that!

[Emil is clearly starting to get pretty agitated now.]

[Emil's not the only one. Richter's getting fairly frustrated himself, thanks to the kid's denseness.]

There's a difference between avoiding conflict and hiding away from the world.

[He shakes his head.]

Y-you don't understand... Ratatosk doesn't only show up when I fight. Sometimes he c-comes out when I'm angry or scared as well, and... I c-can't control when that happens.

Then there's nothing that can be done.

[Even though that's sort of what he'd been expecting, it still doesn't make it any easier to hear. All the fight seems to go out of him at this, legs giving out as he slides down the wall to sit on the floor with a sigh.]

There has t-to be something...

[Richter's still pretty annoyed by the fact that after everything that's happened in the last week, all Emil's doing right now talking himself down. There's more important things to be done.]

First of all, it's obvious you need to rest. Any further worrying can wait until you've recovered.

[Oh, Emil can tell he's annoyed, and that's just making him feel worse... but he really doesn't know what he should do. His primary fear is hurting someone if this happens again, which it very well might.]

I-I'll be fine...

[He tries to push himself back up to a standing position but winces.]

[Oh Emil... Don't you know lack of rest only causes stress, which in turn causes Ratatosk mode? Richter holds a hand out to the boy to help him up]

Not if you keep pushing yourself like this.

[To Emil's credit, he's already pretty stressed out right now and is still managing to remain in control-- looks like's gotten at least a little bit stronger while he's been here. Carefully he takes the hand and pulls himself to his feet, suddenly feeling exhausted.]

I'm sorry...

[Siiigh. He decides not to comment, instead snaking an arm around the boy's back to hold him up and lead him to the bedroom.]

[As much as he might want to, he's going to resist the urge to lean. It's pretty obvious that Richter isn't exactly happy with him right now, after all, so he's just going to remain quiet. If he doesn't say or do anything, there's nothing he can be scolded for.]

[Very wise, Emil. Perhaps you can learn a few things after all. Richter will gently lower him onto the bed once they arrive in their room.]

[Emil can't quite hide the wince as Richter does so, though he tries to pretend it didn't happen. No need to worry the other any further.]

[Considering Emil didn't hide it, though, it was very easy to spot. Richter holds out his right hand, letting it hover just a few inches from the boy's chest.]

First Aid.

I can't even remember how this happened to me... I must've been in a fight with someone, but I can't remember. I hope I didn't hurt them too badly...

I'm sure I would've heard about it if you had.

Y-yeah...

[Sigh. Emil's constant pouting is making Richter feel bad. He'll run a hand through the boy's blonde locks, hoping it'll reassure him.]

Now get some sleep.

[Emil closes his eyes and lets out a soft sound at the hair-petting-- he's just happy Richter isn't mad or scared of him after this whole thing. He's also going to nest under the blankets in an effort to warm himself up; it was pretty damn cold outside and he wasn't exactly dressed for it.]

[That was a satisfactory response. Which means Richter will be leaving the room now, to let Emil get some rest.]

[Considering Emil is asleep almost as soon as Richter reaches the door, it's pretty clear he needs that rest.]
