[Emil can be found outside of House 20 trying in vain to patch a rather sizable hole in one of the walls, the result of a pissed-off Ratatosk (in a thread that hasn't been finished yet, oops) trying to get Vyse and Stahn out of his house. It's obvious that he doesn't know what he's doing and he doesn't have the proper tools to do a real repair; he's just trying to block up the hole as best he can to keep the snow and the wind out.

[Shrugging a little, still focusing away on the hammering and such.] Ratatosk is Ratatosk and Emil is Emil. It doesn't matter who the real one is to me.

"Emil is Emil"... that's what Richter said too. But... how can I be Emil and Ratatosk at the same time? I can't be two people, t-that's just stupid!

Then why don't you remember anything when he takes over?

I don't know, but he knows what's going on when I'm in control.

Doesn't matter. The point is that you have your memories, and he has his. I doubt he's got the same point of view as you on top of that.

... I don't have any memories. The memories I have of my childhood, of growing up... they're all fake.

[... Oh Emil, he didn't mean that in the least.] ... Well, what about the memories you made here and back home? Those are real, unless we've got a mass hallucination going on here and there.

Will we even remember Luceti when we go home? I don't want to forget any of this-- any of the people I've met here. If I can't see everyone again, I want to at least be able to remember them.

I can't say it's too likely, but I'm sure there's at least a chance of it.

[And now he has to look down, swallowing hard.]

[He glances over for a moment and stops with the hammering, offering a small sympathetic smile.]

C'mon, don't look like that. It doesn't seem like it, but we really are making progress towards getting home on our own. We know a lot more about this place and how it works now than we did a year ago, at least.

... um, are you almost done? My arms are starting to get tired.

Hm? [And now he actually looks over at all the hammering he's done.

... Let's just say that tarp isn't going anywhere for a long, long time.] ... Uh, yeah. You can let go now.

[Emil will do so and then sit down in the snow, looking very glad for the break. Man, he hadn't realized how sore holding something up like that can make your arms.]

[Right in the snow, Emil? Well, have fun freezing your buns off there, yo. Yuri gives the tarp another once over to make sure it's stable enough, maybe hammer in a nail or two on the sides, before sighing a little and looking over at him again.]

... Sorry about that. Guess I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought.

[Going back up on the porch would take effort and he's too tired for that, so snow it is. He can always just take a hot bath when he goes back inside anyway.]

No, it's okay-- I should have said something earlier.

[shrugs] Well, it doesn't really matter much anyway -- at least that part of it's done. Next up is the wall itself ... [Now he's going back to staring at the tarp-covered hole. Man, he's not a wall-fixer, but he can't just leave someone who knows nothing about fixing these things alone to do it themselves either ... ffffff.]

Maybe I should just wait for the Malnosso to fix that. Um... they will fix it, right?

They fix all other property damage, so I don't see why they wouldn't. I just don't know when they'll actually get around to fixing it up.

I can wait, I don't mind... at least the snow and the wind won't get in now thanks to your help.

Well, if you say so ... [And then he falls silent. This was when he was planning on asking Emil for an explanation for his little "you don't understand at all" outburst last week, but things seem to be ending on a fairly good note here, so leaving it for another time (or just ignoring it to death until it happens again) is looking pretty tempting ... hrm.]

[Emil can sort of sense that Yuri is thinking about something, but he's not quite sure whether he should ask about it or not. After all, this IS a lot better than the last time the two of them talked; saying anything now could risk ruining it.]
