[Accidental Voice]
[It's late in the evening after a busy day of work at the tea shop, cooking and chores, and animal-wrangling that Emil finally sits down to flip through his journal and catch up on the events of the day.
He's taken to using a certain Christmas card that Buffy gave him a couple of years ago as a bookmark in the journal, both to keep it from getting lost or damaged and because it's bulky enough (being one of those musical cards) that it makes it easy to find his place right away. It's never occurred to him that sticking something that plays music into a journal that can broadcast things to everyone else whose journal is open might not be the best idea-- he always keeps the card closed, and besides, he's been doing it for a long time without any issues.
Today, however, he's so tired and the couch is so comfortable that he ends up starting to doze off as he pages through the journal. Everything is fine for a while... until he rolls over a bit, dislodging both journal and card from their places on the couch beside him and sending them toppling to the floor, the card landing half-open atop the also-opened journal. Of course, this immediately triggers the card to start playing music....
So Luceti, enjoy the very tinny version of "Jingle Bells" that is currently being broadcast over the journals. Emil has no idea his journal is even on.]

Blinking, he lowers his pencil and sketchbook to look at his journal. Kouki resumes sketching as he speaks, which his journal can easily catch and record.]
Hey, are you celebrating Christmas really early?
[Voice]
... huh?
[Voice]
Something's on your end is playing Jingle Bells.

Today is a dark day.]

Right. Maybe he can have a little bit of fun with this.]
Hey, Emil, wake up! You're going to sleep right through Christmas.
[Action]
He stirs and mumbles a bit, but it's going to take more than just that to wake him up. By now he's probably semi-awake enough for the music to start filtering into his subconscious, however...]

That's a very nice tune. But isn't Christmas a few months away? Unless you're planning on celebrating early.
[ voice ]
[Oh god how many people heard this?]
I wasn't celebrating... it was an accident. But I guess I could keep playing it if you like it...
[ voice ]
[He means that too.]
I always do enjoy the sounds of Christmas music. It brings a type of joyful feeling.

Derek will peer at his journal for a few minutes to figure out what's going on. He can see the edge of the card and the hint of flashy lights if he looks at it just right.]
...Think you dropped something over there on your end, whoever you are.

That's a sweet tune, but I think you're very, very early.
[Voice]
Thanks... um, not that I was playing the music or anything. It came from one of those cards that plays music when you open it.
