[His voice is tired and shaky, but with an obviously forced cheerfulness.]

I, um... i-if I did anything to hurt anyone during this experiment, I-I'm really sorry. Everyone else is okay, r-right? Some of the things people got turned into were pretty scary.. I'm g-glad this is all over with.

I-I hope we don't have another experiment like that any time soon. I think I liked the ones that didn't involve being changed into anything b-better.

[OOC: Yeah, the kid is stammering like crazy because he's sitting out in the snow without a coat. Ratatosk, you are a genius.]

[sigh. Just what kind of things has Ratatosk been doing?]

M-Ms. Musette said she'd come get me, so I'll be fine. Really.

[And so, Richter is waiting outside the community building.]

[Oh boy. Emil had kind of been hoping he'd be able to sneak in without having to confront Richter after this whole fiasco, but it looks like he's got no such luck. Quickly he straightens up and tries to act like he's not limping.]

[Too bad for Emil, Richter notices there's something off about the boy's movements. He'll try not to bring it up just yet, though, instead just crossing his arms over his chest.]

[When he draws nearer to Richter, he pauses, hesitating. What should he say? Apologize for everything he did while in Ratatosk Mode? Ask if he harmed anyone? He's not sure where to start.]

I, um...

[Not breaking eyecontact, he reaches out to grab the door handle with one hand and push it open.]

Come inside.

[Emil's relief is visible as he relaxes, glad that Richter isn't grilling him about the whole event-- yet. Besides, he's still shivering, so the warmth is more than welcome. He manages a small, shaky smile before quickly heading inside.]

[Good, because the door will be closed behind them again, keeping the warmth in. He turns to face Emil, his face still somewhat business-like.]

How much do you remember?

I...

[And here he looks down, unable to meet Richter's eyes. Almost out of instinct he wraps his arms around himself in an attempt to stop the shivering.]

... I d-don't remember anything. I remember going to the store to get groceries, and t-then nothing until I came to out in the forest.

[Don't do that, Emil. He's not mad at you and it wasn't your fault. Stand up for yourself just this once.]

Luckily, nothing too serious happened while the experiment was going on.

[Well, that's a bit of a relief. He swallows hard.]

H-he didn't-- I didn't... hurt anyone, d-did I?

Not that I know of.

I'm glad...

[At this point Emil is going to lean back against the door, partly from relief and partly to help keep himself upright.]

... d-did I say anything I shouldn't have?

[That's his other primary concern...]

No. Because for the past week, you weren't yourself.

[If anyone's aware of the difference between Emil and Ratatosk, it'd be Richter. He can't blame the kid for anything that bastard says or does.]

But n-no one else besides you knows about Ratatosk. They won't know t-that I'm not the one who said those things.

... no, that's not true. I was myself... you t-told me that I am Ratatosk, so... I really was the one who said those things.

You're not literally Ratatosk. You're another side of him. It's not the same.

[He shakes his head quietly.]
