Jul. 31st, 2013 09:19 pm[It's late in the evening after a busy day of work at the tea shop, cooking and chores, and animal-wrangling that Emil finally sits down to flip through his journal and catch up on the events of the day.
He's taken to using a certain Christmas card that Buffy gave him a couple of years ago as a bookmark in the journal, both to keep it from getting lost or damaged and because it's bulky enough (being one of those musical cards) that it makes it easy to find his place right away. It's never occurred to him that sticking something that plays music into a journal that can broadcast things to everyone else whose journal is open might not be the best idea-- he always keeps the card closed, and besides, he's been doing it for a long time without any issues.
Today, however, he's so tired and the couch is so comfortable that he ends up starting to doze off as he pages through the journal. Everything is fine for a while... until he rolls over a bit, dislodging both journal and card from their places on the couch beside him and sending them toppling to the floor, the card landing half-open atop the also-opened journal. Of course, this immediately triggers the card to start playing music....
So Luceti, enjoy the very tinny version of "Jingle Bells" that is currently being broadcast over the journals. Emil has no idea his journal is even on.]

Apr. 25th, 2013 11:19 pm[Talking with Adele the other day had served to remind Emil that he really needs to do more about publicizing Brave Vesperia. Okay, so he's been sort of slacking on that end lately, he'll admit to that, but he doesn't want to disappoint Yuri and Zack if they ever return. He owes it to them to do his best as a leader, and that's what he's going to do.
That's why he picks up his journal this afternoon to make an announcement.]
Hi everyone! My name is Emil Castagnier, and I'm one of the leaders of Brave Vesperia here in Luceti. I know I haven't really done much with it since Yuri and Zack left, but it's a guild dedicated to helping people around the village-- we'll do just about anything that needs doing, like helping find lost things, or even building buildings. Anyone can join if they want... you don't need special skills or anything. You just have to want to help out.
Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone that it exists in case people want to join or have something that they want to ask us to do for them. I'll be down at the barracks for the rest of the afternoon if you want to stop by and sign up or if you have a job you want us to do.
Oh, um, and would the members who are still here mind checking in with me? I'm not sure who all is still around anymore. Only if you're still interested, that is. It's okay if you're not. I haven't exactly been the best leader lately.
[Once he finishes his announcement, he'll head down to the barracks, where he'll stay for the rest of the afternoon in the hopes that some people will stop by.]

[Action catch-all for 4th Wall!]
Jan. 27th, 2013 08:32 pm[That's a lot of new people in the village, that much is for sure. The lack of wings is curious, but that hardly registers in Emil's mind-- where are all of these people going to stay? What are they going to eat? As one of the leaders of Brave Vesperia, he's made it his mission to help out wherever possible, meaning that he can be found all around the village offering a helping hand to anyone who looks like they might need one.]
[Richard, on the other hand, is a little overwhelmed by so many newcomers. In no mood for much socializing, he's going to be fighting an internal battle over whether he too should offer help or just stay out of the way for now... at last his sense of duty wins out, and he too will go around seeing what he can do for all of these strange people.]
[Jack is loving this! So many new people, so little time. He's about and about greeting people and generally making a nuisance of himself, as is usual for him. In other words, it's a normal day, just with a whole bunch of wingless newcomers.]
[After the refugee experience, Gai is on guard. This is no normal New Feather influx, and as such, he's more wary than he would usually be; at the same time, though, he wants to figure out what's going on, and what better way to do so than to go out and mingle? Just beware that smile-- it never means good things.]
[Too many people. Way too many people. Shuda is not a fan of this at all. He'll just be trying to stay out of the way, but the need to pick up some groceries sends him out to the store against his better judgment...]
[Emil is not quite sure what to think of all of these strange new people appearing at once. It's a little weird, but he's seen some people who had left a while back, so it isn't all bad!
But since it's cold and snowy out and all of these people are outside, he's going to be running around offering cups of hot cider to people. It's the least he can do!
Please, come troll him.]

[Good afternoon, Luceti. Are you ready to have your quiet afternoon disturbed by a rather girly screech? Because that's what's about to happen when Emil's nap is suddenly rudely interrupted by a large blue canine form being unceremoniously deposited atop him. His flailing knocks his journal off the nightstand, causing it to record the chaos that follows.
From the sound of the startled barking (and growling) immediately after, Emil isn't the only one who was startled.]
Whoa! I-I'm really sorry, please don't eat me!
WOOF!
I said I was sorry...!
(OOC: This is a joint post! Replies may come from Emil, Repede, or both. Probably mostly from Emil, for obvious reasons.)

[Good afternoon, Luceti. Emil hasn't really been paying attention to his journal today, so he has no idea what he's getting into by going out to the store. He is noticing that it seems a lot more crowded than usual, though...
Huh. Maybe it's just another random New Feather flood? Please, feel free to convince him otherwise.]

[It's just another day in Luceti, with a creepy eclipsed sun and monsters falling out of the sky everywhere. There's someone out and about who seems to be enjoying this, however-- Ratatosk (currently with blood-red wings instead of his normal black, thanks to the effects of whatever it is that's going on) is out wandering around with several assorted monsters trailing behind him. He's right in his element amongst all of these summons who seem to dislike the humans just as much as he does. New allies = awesome. Being stuck in Luceti for more than two years now = not so awesome.
This combination of things has made him extra-aggressive, so approach with caution.]
(OOC: Just as a warning, any character who approaches Ratatosk stands a fairly good chance of being attacked at some point. If you want your character to get injured, just let me know how/how badly.)

Aug. 5th, 2010 11:48 am[The journal picks up a bit of coughing as Emil's hand bumps it and knocks it open in his frantic search, followed by some mumbling.]
... w-wait, I think I found it.
[He coughs again, then clears his throat.]
Can anyone hear me? Fina and I... we were in my house, and... I-I think it collapsed. Please... someone help us! It's getting hard to breathe in here... please hurry!
[He sounds close to panicking as he coughs again.]
Get us out of here...

[Emil is not in a good mood. Raven, Repede and Rena have gone home, Yuri is still kidnapped, and Ted is off who-knows-where; the note on his door didn't say. All of this has left Emil just not wanting to deal with people in general, so he's spent the past week wandering around in the forest, his journal left back in his house. This current heat wave isn't helping his bad mood one bit.
Since he's not willing to go back home just yet, for the moment he's taken shelter under Ammy's tree in an attempt to escape the worst of the heat. There's just something soothing about that tree in particular, something that makes him feel safe there, though today it doesn't seem to be doing much to cheer him up-- the expression on his face makes that clear.
Bother him at your own risk; he may bite today.]

Jun. 16th, 2010 11:00 pm[It's the middle of a hot summer day when Emil finally returns to town after his fruitless search for Yuri's journal. A part of him knew he wouldn't find it, yet he couldn't not look for it on the almost nonexistent chance that Yuri might somehow have been able to fight the kidnapping droids off. As a result he's more resigned than discouraged right now-- a small blessing, really.
He's also shivering, teeth chattering, his arms wrapped around himself as he stumbles through town, thinking only of trying to get somewhere with lots of blankets and a space heater. He'd only stopped to examine that strange fire in the woods for a few minutes; it hadn't even been that hot, and besides, you can't come down with a cold from being too warm, right?
Maybe he should check in with Doctor McCoy just in case, but House #7 seems so far away and he's feeling so tired...
A few hours later, once he's actually made it to House #7, he'll open the journal and stammer a single short message based on vague memories of a couple of journal entries he saw earlier and the name Cheza gave him.]
H-hey, G-Ginko? I think... I think I f-found one of those mushi you m-mentioned...
[OOC: Feel free to run into him on his trek to the house; any thread with Ginko will be chronologically last for obvious reasons.]

[Morning finds Emil lugging a bulging knapsack up the road to the bridge near CH #1, the ends of what look like a couple of glass bottles sticking out of it. Whatever is inside it seems to be rather heavy-- he has to stop every few yards to rest, but he's determined to make it to his destination despite this.
Once he gets to the bridge, he unzips the knapsack and begins unpacking the contents. Inside is a whole array of glass bottles, each one containing a letter addressed to a friend who has left Luceti. Richter, Marta, Tenebrae, Horatio, Luke, Faize, Lloyd, Genis-- each one of them (as well as several other people) gets a letter. He figures that with all of the creepy supernatural stuff going on lately, maybe, just maybe, if he drops these bottles into the stream now, they'll somehow reach the intended recipients. It can't hurt to try, right? If nothing else, it might make him feel a little bit better about hearing voices and seeing things.
... or so he hopes.]

[Anyone in the grocery store will be treated to a battered, bloodied Emil (la la ongoing thread, oops) stumbling inside and slamming the door shut behind him, leaning back against it in a desperate hope that Yuber will think twice about following him into a building where other people might be taking refuge. When several moments pass and there is no attempt to open the door, Emil slides down it into a sitting position on the floor and takes a few deep breaths. He's clearly in bad shape; multiple wounds are bleeding heavily, and he bears the marks of several fire and lightning spells as well.
At last he stirs and reaches over for his journal, which he dropped on the floor in his haste. His voice is shaky and strained as he says one thing:]
I think... I think I need some help.

[It's a warm, sunny spring day, the perfect sort of weather for spending the day outside. Of course, that wasn't what Emil had had in mind when he set out for the store; he'd just planned to get some food and then go back home. He'd only meant to sit down on the edge of the fountain for a moment to rest, but the warmth of the sun combined with a lack of sleep quickly coaxes him to lie down (just to rest his eyes, really), and it isn't long before he's fast asleep on the fountain's edge. All it would take is a little shove to send him sprawling into the water...
Wake him up or push him in? It's your choice.]
Wake him up or push him in? It's your choice.]
[Ratatosk out walking around is rather unusual in and of itself, but what makes this scene TRULY strange is the fact that he has a caboose in the form of a small, fluffy baby squirrel, who is following him around and calling him... "Mama"?
... well, that's different. And Ratatosk is most decidedly NOT pleased.]
Dammit, will you cut that out? I told you to get lost!
[Go ahead and laugh at him, you know you want to.]

[It may be a rainy day today, but the rain hasn't stopped Emil from going outside anyway. In fact, he doesn't seem like he even notices it as he sits on a large rock near the bridge by the clinic, knees drawn up to his chest, just sort of staring at the water. He's motionless except for when he occasionally reaches down to pick up a stone from the riverbank and throw it in, so it's easy to miss him sitting there.
Horatio, Luke, Faize, and now Frederic... and that's just the people whose disappearances he learned of during the past month. At this rate it's hard for him to keep from feeling that the Malnosso are somehow punishing him by taking his friends away-- why else would they take people who had promised to be there for him? And on top of that, people have been killed and injured, too...
Right now more than ever, Emil just wants to go home to Richter, Marta and Tenebrae, even if he doesn't know what waits for him there. Surely it's better than this.]
